In the wake of the Boston Marathon bombings and the flurry of social media activity that accompanied the event, the relationship between public safety and social media changed forever. GoLocalWorcester takes an in-depth look at how many social media relationships each of the Central MA cities and towns have on Facebook and Twitter and how they use those tools to communicate.

GoLocal collected the likes and followers of each town's police department's facebook and twitter accounts (those who had them), and normalized them by town population. We've highlighted the top 10 towns whose Police Departments have the most facebook likes and twitter followers per capita.
