Monday, February 06, 2017
David Perez, 29, of Worcester and Erin Gonzalez, 23, of Spencer were arrested in the area of 205 Millbury Street on Friday, February 3 and charged with masked armed robbery and assault with a dangerous weapon.
They will be arraigned on Monday in Worcester District Court.
The Arrests
On January 23 at approximately 10:00 a.m., Worcester Police responded to the area of 63 Endicott Street for a report of an armed robbery which had just occurred. Upon arrival, police met with a 27 year old male victim. Police were informed that the male had recently met a woman on the “Meet Me” App and had agreed to come pick her up that night in the area of 200 Millbury Street.
Police were informed that the victim picked up the female as arranged and was instructed by the female to pull over a short distance later. While pulled over, a masked male approached the parked vehicle on foot, opened the vehicle’s door, and threatened the male victim with a knife. The masked male instructed the victim to hand over everything he had. The victim was placed in fear and handed over his cell phone and a small amount of marijuana. The masked male then fled the area. As the male suspect fled, the female passenger took approximately $300 from inside the vehicle before exiting the car and also fleeing the scene.
Based on the investigation and information received, Detectives determined that the female who entered the vehicle and the masked male suspect had worked together to set up the robbery. After a thorough investigation, Detectives were able to identify the female involved in the robbery as Erin Gonzalez, 23 years old of Spencer. Police were able to identify the masked male involved in the robbery as David Perez, 29 years old of Worcester.
On Friday, February 3 at approximately 1:30 p.m., Worcester Police Detectives located both Perez and Gonzalez in the area of 205 Millbury Street and placed them under arrest for Masked Armed Robbery and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. They will both be arraigned on Monday in Worcester District Court.
