Minton was also charged with use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, receiving stolen property over the value of $250.00, possession of a large capacity weapon and feeding device, possession of ammunition without an FID card, conspiracy, possession of class B substance with the intent to distribute, and possession of a firearm without an FID card.
A 21-year-old man who was in the apartment was not arrested.
The Incident
On Wednesday, October 26, members of the Worcester Police Department Vice Squad executed a search warrant for 205 Millbury Street, Apt. 2-R. The target of the search listed Dana Sequeira, 49, of the same address and Nancy Minton, 41, of the same address.
The warrant was the result of an investigation conducted by vice investigators based on recent information obtained. Investigators had learned that this address had become problematic to the neighborhood and a nuisance to those who resided nearby.
At approximately 10:30 p.m., the officers executed the warrant.
They entered the home and immediately located Sequeira, Minton and a 21-year-old man. During the entry Sequeira refused to comply to the officers commands and actively resisted the officers as they tried to secure him. After brief struggle Sequeira was taken to the ground and placed in handcuffs.
The search of the apartment recovered three cell phones, an open box of sandwich baggies, an open box of baking soda, a computer, surveillance cameras, a false bottom Pepsi soda can, $559.00 in cash and a set of keys to a locked shed located in the rear of the property.
Police then moved to the shed. The search produced a digital scale, a sandwich bag containing individually wrapped pieces of crack cocaine and a Ruger mini 14 .223 long rifle with a collapsible stock. This is a large capacity weapon that was loaded at the time of discovery.
The weapon was entered into the computer system and it was discovered to be stolen out of Fitchburg in 2008.
