Two Injured Following Car Crash After Being Shot At By Unknown Suspect

The two victims, a 21-year-old woman, and a 23-year-old man, suffered broken bones and cuts as well as a possible leg injury.
According to police, there is little information about the suspect at this time.
The Incident
On Sunday, November 25, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Worcester Police responded to the area of 86 Providence Street for a report of a motor vehicle that had crashed into a wall. Responding officers were told that the incident may have been the result of shots fired and that one of the occupants in the vehicle may have been shot.
First arriving officers observed a 21-year-old female operator and a 23-year-old male passenger still in the vehicle. Both occupants were suffering from injuries as a result of the crash. The officers were told that they crashed because they were being shot at by occupants in another unknown vehicle.
According to the victims, they were traveling on Pattison Street, heading towards Providence Street when an unknown vehicle pulled up behind them. One of the occupants within the unknown vehicle began to fire shots at the victims. The operator panicked and accelerated the vehicle in an effort to get away from the suspect vehicle. The operator lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a wall at the intersection of Providence Street by Patterson Street.
Both occupants were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The two had not been shot. The female suffered some broken bones while the male passenger received some cuts and a possible leg injury.
Both have non-life threatening injuries.
Officers at the scene located ballistic evidence. The victim’s car received numerous bullet holes. Officers also located a parked vehicle that was hit with a stray bullet.
WPD Crime Scene Unit arrived and processed evidence. WPD detectives arrived at the scene and conducted interviews.
The victim’s vehicle was towed from the scene and processed.
There is little information on the suspect vehicle or the occupants at this time.
