Two Men Arrested for Possession & Distribution of Cocaine in Worcester

Monday, August 20, 2018

Two men were arrested for distributing cocaine in the area of Millbury Street on Thursday.

Julio Perez, 57, was arrested for distribution of a class B substance.

Alexis Soto, 36, was arrested for possession of a class B substance.

The Incident

On August 16, members of the Worcester Police Vice Squad were conducting surveillance in the area of Millbury St. At approximately 7:45 p.m., officers saw a man, later identified as Soto, of 43 Sigel St, texting on his phone while slowly riding his bike around the area. Shortly afterward, Soto met up with another man, later identified as Perez, of 183 Newbury St.

Perez came out from behind an apartment building and had a hand-to-hand exchange with Soto. Perez appeared to drop an object into Soto’s hand, and Soto began to peddle his bike away from the area.

Officers in the vice squad approached Soto, and saw him drop a small item on the ground. Officers recovered the item, which appeared to be a clear knotted bag of crack cocaine. Soto was placed under arrest. Other officers in the Vice Squad detained Perez, who was in the area of 183 Millbury St.
