Edward Abreu-Checo, 22, was charged with possession of ammunition without an FID card.
Three juveniles that were in the apartment were released to a family friend who arrived at the scene.
The Incident
On Monday, February 27, members of the WPD Vice Squad were in possession of a search warrant for 130 Beacon Street. The named target of the warrant was identified as Gonzalez.
At approximately 7:30 p.m. the warrant was executed for apartment 2. Vice officers entered the apartment and discovered 3 juveniles, Mr. Gonzalez and a male later identified as Abreu-Checo. Abreu-Checo resides at the target address.
During entry into the apartment, Vice officers saw Gonzalez place an item into his mouth as he attempted to get away. Upon seeing this several officers grabbed onto Gonzalez and took him to the ground. Gonzalez refused to comply to the officers commands. Gonzalez continued to chew and attempt to swallow the item that he placed in his mouth. During the struggle Gonzalez eventually spit the item out of his mouth. The item that he spit out was a packet the size of a golf ball. The packet contained heroin and weighed approximately 11.5 grams.
The search of the apartment discovered ammunition in the living room closet and one round of ammunition in the bedroom of Abreu-Checo. Neither man had an FID card or a LTC.
