The Incident
On Wednesday, January 24, members of the Worcester Police Vice Squad were in possession of two search warrants, one for 91 Penn Avenue, apartment #1, the target being Duqeestrada, and for 36 Canterbury Street, apartment #1, the target being Pedro Then.
During the morning hours, members of the vice squad set up surveillance on both properties. At approximately 2:00 PM, Vice officers saw Duquesstrada pull up to the address in a red Mazda. At this time Vice officers decided to execute both warrant simultaneously.
Officers secured Duquesstrada as he exited the Mazda. Officers entered the Penn Avenue apartment. A search of the apartment produced a digital scale, $460.00 in cash, a small bag of marijuana, and a bag that contained 13 individually wrapped bags of Heroin.
Duquesstrada was placed under arrest.
Meanwhile, other Vice officers executed the warrant for the Canterbury Street apartment. Officers entered the apartment and discovered Then inside. The search produced drug paraphernalia which coincides with the packaging and selling of illegal narcotics.
The search also produced a large bag that contained heroin, a box containing $30,020.00 in cash, a water jug that contained another $582.00 in cash, several other bags of Heroin, and another $120.00 in cash. The total weight of the discovered heroin was approximately 19 grams.
Then was placed under arrest.
The cash was seized as evidence and the drugs were processed and sent out for analysis.
