The Incident
Two Worcester Police officers were on routine patrol in the Main South area when they observed a 1998 Honda Accord drive past them. Officers noticed that the front windshield had numerous spider cracks making it defective.
Officers followed behind the vehicle and entered the registration plate into the police cruiser's computer system. The registration came back revoked for lack of insurance. The plate also did not belong to the vehicle. Officers proceeded to pull the vehicle over.
Officers approached the vehicle and saw three males inside. Officers observed a male sitting in the front passenger seat moving about in what looked like an effort to conceal something. Officers observed a knife in the center console of the vehicle as well as two open cups of a beverage with ice.
The Search and Arrests
Police ordered the passenger out of the vehicle and noticed a bag of heroin resting on the passenger seat. The passenger was Solis.
Officers then ordered the driver out of the vehicle and identified him as Antonio Deleon. The rear passenger was also ordered out of the vehicle.
Officers searched the area of the interior of the vehicle that the three men had control of. Police found two open cups contained an alcoholic beverage. Under the front driver's seat, officers found a bag containing cocaine. Inside the passenger door panel, police found four more bags of heroin.
Police arrested Deleon and Solis while the third passenger was free to leave.
Police found four cell phones on Solis and $114.00 in cash on Deleon.
All the money, drugs and cell phones were confiscated as evidence.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.
Both men were arraigned on Thursday at the Worcester County District Court.
