Victim Identified in Fatal New Bedford Crash

A preliminary investigation by Trooper Ryan Toolin indicates that a 1998 International dump truck was traveling eastbound in the center travel lane on Route 195, west of exit 13 when it was hit from behind by a 2013 Isuzu box truck, also traveling eastbound at the time. =
Cabral was trapped inside the vehicle at the scene. Trooper Paul Gifford rendered first aide and continued until New Bedford EMS arrived.
Upon arrival, New Bedford Fire extricated the operator while New Bedford EMS took over first aid. =
Cabral was taken to St. Luke's Hospital where he later passed away due to his injuries.
