Victim in Stable Condition After Being Stabbed on Franklin Street

Wednesday, September 23, 2015

On Monday night, Worcester Police officers were called to an apartment on Franklin Street for a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, officers found a 40-year-old male suffering from a stab wound to the abdomen.

The victim was rushed to an area hospital and, as of Tuesday morning, was listed in stable condition.

According to the WPD, the victim told officers that he was attacked by several men who followed him from the Worcester Common to Allen Court Alley. One of the males pulled a knife out and stabbed the victims. The suspects then fled and the victim walked home to his apartment on Franklin Street.

While the victim was walking down Franklin Street, a security guard from another building noticed that the victim was bleeding and called 911. The victim refused to wait for EMT to arrive and went to his apartment. The security guard went to the apartment with the victim and treated his wound until Worcester EMS showed up. The investigation is ongoing.

If anyone has information about this incident they can send an anonymous text to 274637 TIPWPD + your message or send an anonymous web based message at worcesterma.gov/police. Calls can also be made to the Worcester Police Detective Bureau at (508) 799-8651.
