Victim Stable Following Friday’s Shooting Off of Shrewsbury Street

According to the Worcester Police Department, the men told the WPD that they were being followed by a Black Nissan SUV while traveling on Belmont Street. The SUV followed the two men down Daniels Street. When their vehicle stopped, the SUV stopped behind them. The driver of the SUV got out of his vehicle with a gun. As the victim began to drive away, the driver fired several rounds into the victim's vehicle - striking the victim in the arm.
The victims got away and the suspects in the SUV drove off down Belmont Street heading towards Shrewsbury.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital and his injuries are non-life threatening. He is in stable condition.
WPD investigators believe that this was not a random act and that the suspects and the victims know each other.
