“This is a great day for the airport and for Rhode Island travelers. Sun Country is an airline on the move and we appreciate that they have added T.F. Green to their growing list of destinations,” said Iftikhar Ahmad, president and CEO of the Rhode Island Airport Corporation. “Every time we add an airline or a route we are strengthening Rhode Island’s economy and providing a wider array of travel destinations for the business community.”
The service will start in April with promotional rates as low as $69.00 each way. Ticket purchases are available now.

“On behalf of the board, we are pleased to welcome Sun Country to T.F. Green Airport. We hope this is the beginning of a long-term relationship and we would encourage Rhode Islanders to take advantage of the introductory fares,” said Jonathan Savage, chair of RIAC’s Board of Directors.
Sun Country Airlines is based in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul and flies to more than 50 destinations across the U.S., Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean.
“We’re excited to provide new low cost air service to Rhode Island residents and to bring more visitors to the great city of Providence,” said Chief Commercial Officer Ted Botimer. “Our focus on low fares and great customer service will be a great fit in this market, and we look forward to our continued partnership with the Rhode Island Airport Corporation.”
United States Senator Jack Reed was on hand at the announcement on Tuesday.
“I’m pleased to help welcome Sun Country Airlines to the Ocean State and the growing network of airlines serving T.F. Green. This is more good news for travelers and the state, and further evidence that extending the runway and modernizing the airport was a smart move. More non-stop destinations means increased opportunities, business, visitors, and connections,” said U.S. Senator Jack Reed, the Ranking Member of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, who has worked with the Federal Aviation Administration to invest approximately $110 million in upgrading T.F. Green and extending the main runway 1,500 feet.
