West Boylston Man Injured in Motorcycle Crash in Worcester

Monday, May 07, 2018

A West Boylston man was seriously injured after his motorcycle collided with a car in the area of Grove Street on Thursday night.

The condition of the driver is unknown at this time; however, the injuries received are not considered life-threatening.

The investigation is still active.

The Incident

On Thursday, May 3, at approximately 9:11 p.m., Worcester Police responded to a motorcycle and car accident in the area of 340 Grove Street. The first responding officer saw a 37-year-old male motorcycle driver suffering from a leg injury and cuts to the face. The operator is a West Boylston resident.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2009 Toyota Camry was traveling southbound on Grove Street and began to make a left turn into the Shell Gas Station parking lot at 340 Grove Street. Meanwhile, the 2008 Yamaha XV 1700 motorcycle was traveling in the northbound lane when the Toyota turned into its path. As a result, the Toyota struck the left hand side of the motorcycle causing the motorcycle to crash. The motorcycle came to an uncontrolled stop facing in the west.

The operator of the Toyota is an 18-year-old female Holden resident.

The Toyota and Yamaha were towed from the scene and investigators will conduct a full mechanical inspection to determine if any mechanical issues may have been a contributing factor leading up to the collision.
