Monday, May 28, 2012

Will you file an abatement as a homeowner or business owner?

This week city councilors set the residential rate for fiscal 2012 at $16.98 per $1,000 assessed value. The commercial-industrial rate was set at $29.08 per $1,000.  The residential tax rate increased by 92 cents, from $16.06 in fiscal 2011, while the commercial-industrial rate decreased by $5.57 from $34.65. However, the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce wanted a larger break.

So, will you file a tax abatement for your home or business? GoLocalWorcester wants to hear your voice, so take part in our poll.
