Worcester Man Arrested After Assaulting Disabled Man During Home Invasion

Lance Capoccia, 43, of Worcester was arrested and charged with home invasion, assault and battery on a person 60 and over and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon after breaking into a home on Catherine Street on Monday, July 11. 

Upon breaking into the apartment, Capoccia attacked a 60-year-old disabled man with a pipe before the victim was able to fight back and force him out. 

The Incident 

On Monday, July 11 at approximately 7:17 p.m. Worcester Police responded to a Catherine Street apartment for a reported home invasion. Upon the officers arrival they met with a 60-year-old male victim. The victim was suffering from blunt force trauma to his head but was conscious and alert. 

According to the victim, he was inside his apartment when a male entered the rear door holding a metal object. The suspect started begetting on the victim but he was able to fight back and force him out the door. 

Multiple police officers arrived at the scene and began a search of the area. A short time later, a suspect was located on nearby Oak Avenue. 

The suspect was identified by the victim and witnesses and was identified as Lance Capoccia, 43, of Worcester. Capoccia was arrested and will be arranged on today in Worcester Court.
