Worcester Man Arrested After Breaking Into Ex-Girlfriend’s Home

A Worcester man, 21, is being charged with home invasion and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon after he broke into the Lovell Street home of his ex- girlfriend on Sunday morning, July 3. 

The suspects name can not be released at this time due to Massachusetts state laws. 

The Incident 

On Sunday, July 3 at approximately 9:10 a.m., Worcester Police were sent to an address on Lovell Street for a report of a home invasion. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the 17 year old female victim. 

The female informed officers that she was asleep in here bed when she awoke to the sound of her bedroom window being smashed. See then observed her ex-boyfriend, a 21 year-old-male, climb into the broken window. 

The suspect fled the apartment when he was confronted by another resident inside. The female victim received a small cut to her leg as a result of the glass from the broken window. 

Officers on scene also spoke with a witness on scene who told the police that he had observed the  male suspect flee from Lovell Street address on foot towards Beaver Brook Park. The witness informed police that the male appeared to be bleeding heavily as a result of injuries sustained from climbing through the window. 

Police saw blood and glass in the area of the bedroom and the open window. They also saw a large rock in the bedroom by the foot of the bed. 

The victim and witnesses  were able to give officers an accurate description of the male. Members of the Worcester Police Department were able to locate the male suspect at an address on Benefit Terrace in Worcester. 

The subject was arrested and transported to an area hospital for treatment for injuries sustained while while entering the apartment through the broken window.
