Worcester Man Arrested for Breaking into a Vehicle After Owner Chases Him Down

Meanwhile, the victim will be summonsed to court for assault and battery because during the argument with the suspect the victim punched him in the face.
Smith suffered a swollen eye and was treated by Worcester EMS, who were called to the scene.
The Incident
Worcester Police responded to 263 Grafton Street, Cumberland Farms, for a report of a fight at approximately 11:45 p.m. on Thursday, May 19. Upon arrival, the officer met with a 44 male victim while another male, identified art Davon Smith, 18, was inside the store.
The victim told police that he lives nearby and was returning home when he noticed a vehicle blocking the entrance of his driveway which prevented him from parking. The victims went to several neighbors' homes to ask who owned the vehicle.
Upon his return, the victim noticed two males near his vehicle. The owner thought the two males may have been the owner of the vehicle that was in question and asked the two males about it. The males respond "it won't happen again," and continued to walk away. The owner thought that was a strange response and upon entering his vehicle noticed that it had been ransacked.
The console had been gone through and many personal items strewn about. The victim immediately suspected the two males that were standing nearby were involved. The victim yelled to the two males if they had just broken into his car and the males began to run off.
The Chase
The victim began to give chase and the two males split up. The victim stayed with Smith who ran into a Cumberland Farms market and the victim followed him inside. The victim asked for his wallet and Smith denied having it.
The victim's son entered the bathroom of the store and found his father's license and other personal belongings in the toilet.
The Arrest
The officer asked if anyone else had entered the store when Smith entered but the clerk said it was only Smith.
The officer placed Smith under arrested and had him transported to a local hospital and then to police headquarters after treatment for processing.
Smith will be arraigned on Friday at the Worcester County District Courthouse.
