The Incident
On Tuesday, May 23, members of the WPD Vice Squad had in their possession a search warrant for 30 Gardner Street. The target of the warrant was Miguel Rivera, Jr., 35-years-old of the same address. Vice officers followed the car and signaled the car to stop in the area of Canterbury and Grand Streets. Rivera was removed from the car and placed under arrest.
Officers took the apartment keys from Rivera and went to the target address. At approximately 9:45 a.m., entry was made into the apartment. Rivera was transported to the address as the warrant was executed. Inside the apartment was a woman.
The search of the apartment produced 3 cell phones, a digital scale, and two plastic baggies containing cocaine.
