Friday, June 10, 2016

Jordan Swan, 27, of Worcester was arrested and charged with possession of class A substance with the intent to distribute and distribution of class A substance after Worcester Police teamed with the Massachusetts State Police to conduct undercover drug buys.

He was arraigned at the Worcester County District Courthouse today.

The Investigation

Before beginning the operation, officers obtained information during an investigation that specified a certain individual that was dealing heroin and crack cocaine throughout the city.

At approximately 4:15 p.m., an undercover officer called the target of the investigation to meet with him for the purpose of purchasing heroin or cocaine. The undercover officer was provided the cash that had the serial numbers documented.

The undercover officer made arrangements to meet with the dealer on Chandler Street. Once the surveillance team was in place the undercover officer observed a male standing next to a Ford Taurus. Eye contact was made between the two men. The undercover officer entered the passenger side of the Taurus.

The undercover officer handed the male the documented money and the male handed the officer two glassine baggies containing heroin from a candy container. The undercover officer exited the vehicle and walked away.

The suspect drove off. Members of the WPD Gang Unit stopped the suspect vehicle. The driver, Swan, was in possession of the documented money. Officers located the candy container. Inside the container was 1 glassine baggie of heroin. Police also discovered $1,201 in cash.
