Worcester Man Dies Following Hit & Run

Tu Nghiem, 72, was pronounced dead at a local hospital after he was hit by a pickup truck with a plow on it.
The pickup truck did not stop following the accident.

The Accident
On Monday, February 13, at approximately 6:00 a.m., Worcester Police were sent to the area of 1251 Pleasant Street for a report of a pedestrian that was struck by a pickup truck. Prior to arrival, police were told that the truck fled the scene towards the direction of Paxton.
Upon arrival, police saw members of the Worcester Fire Department on scene treating a 72-year-old man (later identified as Nghiem) who was lying in the street. The victim was transported by ambulance from the scene to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
While at the scene, police spoke with several witnesses who saw the accident. Police were told that the victim was walking in the east-bound travel lane on Pleasant Street when he was struck by a dark colored pickup truck with a plow. The truck was heading west towards Paxton. After being struck, the victim immediately fell to the ground. Several witnesses stopped to call police and assist the victim. Witnesses saw the pickup truck continue without stopping, heading west on Pleasant Street towards Paxton.
