Worcester Gang Armed With Guns Chase Man in Worcester

A gang of men armed with guns chased a man down Constitution Ave. in Worcester back to his apartment. The gang left the scene after realizing they could not break into the apartment.

Following the incident, a Worcester man was arrested after he was identified as being part of the gang.

Jerson Jacquez, 20, Worcester is being charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, threat to commit a crime and intimidation of a witness.

Police are still working to identify other suspects involved in this incident.

The Incident

On Wednesday, December 14 at approximately 9:00 PM, Worcester Police responded to the area 42 Constitution Ave for a report of assault with a dangerous weapon. Police were notified by dispatch that a group of suspects had chased a man and that at least one of the suspects had pointed a gun at the victim.

Upon arrival, police met with a 30-year-old male victim. Investigation at the scene revealed that the man was approached by a group of men on Constitution Ave. The suspects said they were armed with guns and began chasing the victim, who was able to run away from the suspects and into his own apartment. The suspects attempted to force entry into the apartment while the residents inside called the police.

The suspects were unsuccessful in gaining access to the apartment and fled the scene prior to the police arriving. Police were informed that the suspects fled towards Boylston Street in a Silver Toyota Solara. The victim was not injured during this incident.

On Thursday, December 15, at approximately 5:30 p.m., a Worcester Police officer on patrol in the area of Providence Street observed the suspect car from the previous night. The suspect vehicle was parked and unoccupied. The officer was able to watch the vehicle from a stationary position and observed a male (later identified as Jacquez) run up to the vehicle, enter the driver’s seat, and pull away.

The officer conducted a stop of the car on Providence Street and spoke with Jacquez. Worcester Police Detectives arrived on scene shortly after the stop and were able to positively identify Jacquez as one of the men involved in the previous night’s assault.

Jacquez was placed under arrest.

Jennings and Martinez were involved in a large fight with weapons on Canterbury Street. WPD officers caught the pair along with three others, including a 15-year-old male, that were charged with trespassing.
