Friday, August 05, 2016

Hector Piniero of Worcester has been sentenced to 5 to 7 years in state prison after he violated his probation violation coming from a 2011 incident where he attempted to murder someone.

The Court

In Worcester Superior Court, Hector Piniero, 25, of Worcester, was sentenced to 5 to 7 years in state prison for violating his probation stemming from a 2011 conviction for armed assault with intent to murder.

The probation violation proceedings lasted multiple days, with testimony from members of the Worcester Police Gang Unit, Worcester Police Detective Bureau, and Superior Court Probation.

Piniero was also found in violation of his probation on his convictions for assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a firearm w/out an FID, and conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act.

Piniero still has additional charges pending in Worcester Superior Court stemming from his involvement in a shooting on Shrewsbury Street in February of 2016 and the subsequent execution of a search warrant at his residence by members of the Worcester Police Gang Unit. During the execution of the search warrant at Piniero’s residence, members of the Gang Unit recovered a loaded firearm and crack cocaine.
