Worcester Man Shot in the Head Early Saturday in Front of Old Walker Shoe on Water Street

At approximately 2:25 AM Worcester Police responded to the area of Water Street near Grafton Street for a report of a possibly gunshot victim. Responding officers located a 28-year-old male victim in a parking lot across from 28 Water Street. The man was suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.
Accoridng to Worcester Police, the gun shot victim was transported to a local hospital. His injuries are not considered life threatening.
The preliminary investigation reveals that earlier in the evening, the victim was at bar on Water Street. The victim left the establishment and walked to his car in the Canal Lofts parking lot. The victim was putting antifreeze in his car when he was approached by the male suspect. The suspect pulled out a handgun and demanded the victim’s wallet. When the victim handed over his wallet, the suspect fired the gun at the victim. The suspect fled the area.
There is limited suspect description at this time.
The investigation is ongoing.
