Worcester Man Was Intended Victim of Freemont Street Shooting

A 40-year-old Worcester Man was the intended victim of a Freemont Street shooting that shattered the driver's side window of his car while he was in it. 

Worcester police have no suspect information at this time. 

The Incident 

Worcester Police were sent to an address on Fremont Street for a report of gunshots. Upon arrival, they met with a 40-year-old Worcester man who was the intended victim of a shooting. The intended victim told police that he left his house to go to work at approximately 8 AM. 

The man entered his car which was parked in his driveway. As he put his vehicle into drive, he heard what he believed to be a gunshot and observed his driver’s side window to shatter. As the man attempted to drive out of his driveway, he heard a second gunshot. The victim believes that both gunshots were fired from close range. He immediately fled the scene and called police.

When police arrived, they saw a bullet hole near the driver’s side window molding as well as a second hole in the passenger side window molding. Detectives recovered a spent projectile from the passenger side area of the victim’s car. Based on the officer’s observations and report from the victim, the bullet entered the vehicle in the area of the driver’s side window molding and came to rest in the area of the passenger side window molding.

Police Asking for Help 

The investigation is ongoing and police have no suspect information at this time.
