Worcester Police Arrest 8 During Undercover Prostitution Sting

Worcester Police have arrested 8 people, 5 males and 3 females, as a result of an undercover prostitution sting that was conducted early Thursday morning in the Main South area. The sting came after numerous complaints from residents were filed at crime watch meetings.

The following people were arrested:

Yariel Torres, 34-years-old of 20 Bellevue Street, Worcester.
Alexander Delacruz, 32-years-old of 29 Freeland Street, Worcester.
Salif Johnson, 32-years-old of 4 Pine View Avenue, Worcester. Also charged with Possession of Open Container of Alcohol.
Paul Beaulieu, 52-years-old of 52 federal Street, Blackstone, MA.
Wellington Massaquoi, 30-years-old of 35 Gardner Street, Worcester, MA .
Sharon Perry, 39-years-old arrested for being a Common Streetwalker.
Yadira Sanchez, 37-years-old arrested for Sexual Conduct for a Fee.
Lauri Anne Lozzi, 52-years-old arrested for Sexual Conduct for a Fee.

In addition to these arrests, 6 other females chose to seek substance abuse treatment instead of being arrested.

All suspects were arraigned at the Worcester County District Courthouse.

The Sting

On Thursday, June 30 members of the Worcester Police Vice Squad conducted surveillance in the Main South area for prostitution activity.

A group of undercover officers went to the Main South neighborhoods early in the morning. Female and male officers were set up approximately 7 a.m.

At approximately 7:20 a.m. a female officer was the first to be approached by a male operating a motor vehicle, the female officer was propositioned and the male was subsequently placed under arrest.

The entire operation lasted about 3 hours with a total of 5 males and 3 females arrested.
