Worcester Police Dept. to Swear In 7 New Officers

The Worcester Police Department will swear in seven new officers during a ceremony in the Levi Lincoln Chamber.

The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, January 22 at 4:30 p.m.

New Officers

The seven officers are part of the thirty-seven Worcester police candidates who were welcomed to the department during the first day of the Worcester Police Academy.

Thirty recruits will attend the academy’s 25-week training program, while seven candidates have previous police academy training.

These trained and experienced officers will be attending an orientation program prior to being sworn-in.

On Tuesday, the new officers will recite the Oath of Office and will be issued their Worcester Police badge. City Manager Edward M. Augustus, Jr. and Chief Steven M. Sargent will preside over the ceremony.

The following officers will be sworn in during the ceremony:

  • Hungria Ortiz
  • Robert Ouimet
  • Matthew Anderson
  • James Conway
  • Irving Reyes-Rosario
  • William Warnken
  • Andrei Cimpan
