Worcester Police in Search of Suspect Involved in Burncoat Street Stabbing

Worcester police are in search of a suspect involved in a stabbing incident on Burncoat Street on Sunday night.

The Incident

On Sunday, August 26, 2018, at approximately 8:56 PM, Worcester Police responded to a Burncoat Street address for a report of an assault. Upon the officers arrival they observed a 33-year-old man standing in the driveway holding a bloody shirt to his face. The victim told the officer that he had been stabbed. At this time the officer called for an ambulance.

The man was treated at the scene by EMS and then transported to a local hospital for further treatment. The victim was suffering from stab wounds to the face and back area. The injuries appeared serious but not life threatening.

Officers spoke with several witnesses at the scene. It is believed that the victim was with two other men working on an ATV in the driveway. At some point, the victim got into a verbal argument with one of the other men. The verbal argument quickly escalated into a physical altercation. During the fight, one of the men produced a knife and cut and stabbed the victim.

Worcester Detectives arrived at the scene and took over the investigation. Members of the Crime Scene Unit arrived as well and processed evidence.

Investigators are attempting to locate the suspect.
