Worcester Police Investigating Drive-By Shooting on Providence Street

The Incident
On Saturday, July 14 at about 10:45 p.m., Worcester Police responded to the area of 58 Providence St. for a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, police observed a 22-year-old victim of a gunshot to the neck. Officers delivered medical aid and helped to slow the bleeding until Worcester EMS arrived, and the victim was transported to the hospital.
The Crime Scene Unit and Detective Bureau arrived to process the scene and investigate. Officers spoke with witnesses, who said that a vehicle drove by, the window opened, and someone fired one round from a handgun. The victim had been sitting on the second-floor porch, and was struck in the neck. The victim is in stable condition and is expected to recover, according to police
