According to a recent study completed by WalletHub, Worcester is ranked 107th out of 182 cities when it comes to most sinful.

“Las Vegas isn’t the only sinful place in America. In other cities, bad things happen and stay there, too. From beer-loving Milwaukee to hedonistic New Orleans, the U.S. is filled with people behaving badly. No place is innocent. We all have demons,” said WalletHub.

Worcester’s Rankings:

  • 81st Best - Excesses & Vices
  • 6th Best - Greed
  • 119th Best - Lust
  • 163rd Best - Vanity
  • 99th - Laziness
  • 1st- Lowest Charitable Donations as % of Income

The Rankings

Worcester is ranked behind St. Petersburg, Florida and Stockton, California who rank 105th and 106th respectively.

Worcester is ranked ahead of Amarillo, Texas and Salt Lake City, Utah who rank 108th and 109th respectively.

Las Vegas, Nevada is ranked as the most sinful city, while South Burlington, Vermont is the least sinful city.

The Method

In order to determine the most sinful cities in America, WalletHub compared 182 cities — including the 150 most populated U.S. cities, plus at least two of the most populated cities in each state — across seven key dimensions: 1) Anger & Hatred, 2) Jealousy, 3) Excesses & Vices, 4) Greed, 5) Lust, 6) Vanity and 7) Laziness.

They examined those dimensions using 32 relevant metrics, which are listed below with their corresponding weights.
