Worcester Releases Dates and Locations for Community Race Discussions

On Friday, the City of Worcester, Mayor Joe Petty and City Manager Ed Augustus announced the dates and locations for the seven week series of community discussions on race. The discussions will be facilitated by the U.S. Department of Justice Community Relations Servivce and the office of Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey.

A light meal and childcare (when possible) will be provided to those wishing to attend. Each discussion will take place on a Monday from 6 PM to 8 PM at the following locations: 

May 18th: Overview of dialogue process and setting the stage for dialogue

YWCA of Central Massachusetts, 1 Salem Square

June 1st: Representative Government

Quinsigamond Community College, 670 W Boylston St.

June 8th: Public Safety

Belmont AME Zion Church, 55 Illinois St.

June 15th: Youth and Education

Worcester Technical High School, 1 Skyline Drive (still tentative)

June 22nd: Media and Online Social Networks

Worcester Jewish Community Center, 633 Salisbury St.

June 29th: Economic Development

Friendly House, 36 Wall St.

July 13th: Report back and next steps
