slides: Worcester Restaurant Inspections: How the Fast Food Chains Scored

Wednesday, August 28, 2013

GoLocalWorcester's study of the health code violations in Worcester over a multi-week period conducted by the reporters, researchers and editors, included the evaluation and overall scores of each of the fast food chain locations and then averaged the scores by brand. Major fast food chains have built in extensive policies for the corporate locations and their franchisees to ensure high quality.

High scores equal high quality according to the evaluation forms registered by the food inspectors in Worcester - 100% is a perfect score with no violations.

Nationally, McDonald's policies state, "McDonald’s is committed to ensuring that the foods and beverages we serve to our customers are safe...It is the responsibility of every McDonald’s employee to follow all applicable safety and hygiene policies and procedures. Notify your manager if you become aware of a problem relating to the safety of our products."

The following is a comprehensive review of the 141 chain restaurant locations inspected by Worcester inspectors. Those 141 stores fell under 30 different chain brands ranging from Dunkin' Donuts to Subway to Starbucks.

A complete scoring of the chains from best scoring to lowest scoring can be found below.
