Worcester Teenager Arrested in Connection With Fatal Murray Ave. Stabbing

Kevin Miranda, 18, of 33 Wellington Street, Worcester was arrested and charged with Murder after being picked up by Worcester police detectives on Friday, January 8th in connection with the murder of 31-year-old Cherise Hill. 

Miranda was taken into custody at his residence on Wellington Street and transported to Worcester Police headquarters where he was charged. 

Miranda is the second suspect arrested and charged in the case. 

The Incident 

Worcester police were dispatched to the area of 20 Murray Avenue for a report of an assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on Wednesday, December 2 at approximately 4:45 a.m.

Upon arrival, the police found a 31-year-old female victim lying on the side of the roadway suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead. 

First Arrest 

Luis Melendez, 33-years-old, of 47 Vernon Street, Worcester has been arrested and charged with murder in the case of the December 2, Murray street homicide of 31-year-old Cherise Hill. 

Melendez was picked up by members of the Worcester Police Gang Unit on Friday, December 11 at approximately 4:13 p.m.
