Worcester to Get 10 to 14 Inches of Snow Sunday Night

According to the National Weather Service, Patriots fans in Worcester will be getting the good with the bad on Sunday night. A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for Sunday evening through late Monday night. Estimated to begin shortly after the Super Bowl ends, another snow storm will drop 10 to 14 more inches of snow on the city.

The snow will begin around midnight on Sunday and will be extremely heavy during the day on Monday. It will end sometime Monday night.

Following Tuesday's storm that brough a record-breaking 33.5 inches of snow, the city of Worcester and Worcester residents will sure have a difficult time finding places to put another 10 inches of snow.

* HAZARD TYPES...HEAVY SNOW.

* ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATION OF 10 TO 14 INCHES.

* TIMING...SNOW DEVELOPS AFTER MIDNIGHT SUNDAY NIGHT...HEAVIEST DURING MONDAY...THEN TAPERING OFF MONDAY NIGHT.

* WINDS...NORTH 15 TO 25 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH.

* IMPACTS...HAZARDOUS TRAVEL IS EXPECTED ALONG WITH POOR VISIBILITY IN HEAVY SNOW AND BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW.

* VISIBILITIES...ONE QUARTER MILE OR LESS AT TIMES.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A WINTER STORM WATCH IS ISSUED FOR THE POTENTIAL OF ACCUMULATING SNOW OF 6 OR MORE INCHES IN A 12 HOUR PERIOD...OR 8 OR MORE INCHES IN A 24 HOUR PERIOD. ANYONE TRAVELING IN THE NEXT 24 TO 36 HOURS SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE PREPARED TO MODIFY TRAVEL PLANS SHOULD WINTER WEATHER DEVELOP.
