Worcester’s City Manager Calls Monday’s Shooting a “Senseless Act of Violence”

As GoLocalWorcester reported, a 2-year-old boy and his 28-year-old mother were shot by stray bullets in front of their building in the housing complex.
As of Monday evening, the infant was stable after being shot in the shoulder. The mother was shot in the arm and hand and suffered non-life threatening injuries. According to WPD, preliminary reports indicate that the two victims are expected to survive from their wounds.
In his released statement, Augustus said, "I, like the rest of the community, am outraged by the senseless act of violence the occurred last night (Monday) in our city. My thoughts and prayers and the support of the entire city go out to the victims of this terrible crime. The perpetrators have demonstrated an appalling disregard for human life, and the City of Worcester and the Worcester Police Department pledge to work tirelessly to bring them to justice.”
Information from the WPD police scanner indicated that officers are looking for a light skin Hispanic male, roughly 5'5" to 5'6", in his late 20s to early 30s, with curly hair and wearing a dark shirt with dark pants.
