YWCA of Central MA Accepting Nominations for 2017 Erskine Awards

The YWCA of Central Massachusetts is accepting nominations for the 2017 Katharine Erskine Awards. 

The awards recognize women who have demonstrated leadership and reached exemplary levels of achievement in their professions and communities. 

The deadline for nominations is March 1, 2017. Award winners will be honored at the 23rd annual Tribute to Women Luncheon on Tuesday, May 2. 

Nominees best meet the following criteria. 

  • distinctive achievement and service in her current field;
  • service to community with a demonstrated commitment to social and racial equality;
  • demonstrated commitment to serving as a role model for women and girls; and
  • must live and/or work in Central Massachusetts.

 

The Award 

The award is named for Katharine Forbes Erskine, who twice served the YWCA as president, first in 1930 and again in 1960. 

The YWCA of Central MA has honored 102 women with the award since 1994.
