YWCA of Central MA to Host 7th Annual Stand Against Racism on Friday

The YWCA of Central Massachusetts will host the 7th annual Stand Against Racism on Friday, April 29. The event will bring together over 100 local agencies, businesses and organizations in taking a Stand Against Racism. 

Schedule of Events

The event will start with a leadership breakfast beginning at 7:30 a.m. The breakfast will include a presentation and conversation among community leaders about the impact of racism on girls of color in society. The presentation will be conducted by Darakshan Raja, Co-Director at the Washington Peace Center . 

A community forum will follow from 12 to 1 p.m. At the session, Raja will lead a workshop, engaging attendees in relevant dialogue. 

Finally, the event will include a public stand and rally from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at City Hall Common. The event is a celebration of diversity and culture, featuring music, dance, vocal and spoken performances from various groups. 

Jamele Adams, Dean of Student Life at Brandeis University will serve as master of ceremonies. 

The  community forum and public stand and rally are free and open to the  public.
