Biden Stumbles in Online Event, Says Pandemic Has “Cost Us 85,000 Jobs, Lives of Billions”
Friday, May 15, 2020
Biden said in an online discussion with Democratic Governors coordinated by his campaign, “We're in the middle of a pandemic that had cost us more than 85,000 jobs as of today, lives of billions of people, millions of people, millions of jobs. You know we're in a position where you know we just got new unemployment insurance this morning numbers - 36 5 million claims since this crisis began."
The gaffe was one of a number of errors in the campaign broadcast with Democratic governors.
