Chandler Begins Re-election Campaign

State Senator Harriette Chandler (D-Worcester) has begun her reelection campaign with a kick off event held at her campaign headquarters on West Boylston Street in Worcester.

Chandler is currently the highest ranking legislator from the Greater Worcester area. Her district includes Worcester, Boylston, Holden, Princeton, West Boylston, Clinton and Northborough.

"Harriette Chandler's extraordinary energy, dedication and experience have paid dividends for the communities in her district," said Congressman Jim McGovern, "I love Harriette Chandler because she is on the right side of the issues that mean the most to the people she represents."

"Through hard work and persistence, she has become a leader who ensures that the concerns of Central Massachusetts communities are heard at the State House, " said State Rep. Jim O'Day, "Make no mistake about it, the labor candidate in this election is Harriette Chandler who is always there for working people."

Chandler said, "I have worked hard because the people of this district work hard to make our communities better places to live and to work for everyone. I am proud of what we have accomplished together to solve problems. I look forward to continuing those efforts for our children, our seniors, our veterans and all our families."

Chandler is the current Senate Assistant Majority Leader and the Vice-Chair of the Senate Steering and Policy Committee. She also serves as the Co-Chair of the Prevention for Health Caucus, the Regional Transit Authority (RTA) Legislative Caucus, the Central Massachusetts Caucus, the Oral Health Caucus, and formerly served as the Co-Chair of the Brain Injury Commission and the Caucus of Women Legislators.

Prior to serving in the Massachusetts legislature, she was a member of the Worcester School Committee from 1991 to 1994.
