Monday, August 25, 2014
According to the new Suffolk University/Boston Herald poll of 400 likely primary voters, Grossman trails Coakley by 12-percentage points, a gap that was once as high as 40-points in earlier polls.
The poll shows Coakley with 42-percent of the vote with Grossman having 30-percent of the vote. The third Democratic gubernatorial candidate Don Berwick trails with 16-percent of the primary vote.
In the Republican primary, Charlie Baker still has a commanding lead over Tea Party favorite Mark Fisher, leading the Republican vote by 59-percent.

More Trouble for Coakley
Coakley does still hold a double-digit lead in the Democratic gubernatorial race, but the new poll does raise some red flags for her campaign.
Coakley is currently beating Grossman among polled women voters – by a margin of 23-percent – but is currently tied among likely male voters. Additionally, Grossman is also closing the gap among independent voters, which make up 23-percent of the Democratic primary poll respondents.
