Spanish Diplomat Fernandez-Arias to Speak About Xenophobia at Assumption

The talk will take place on Monday, March 20 at 6:30 p.m.
“Understanding the complex issue of xenophobia at this time of political transition and economic uncertainty in the United States and the European Union is critical for students who are pursuing a career in international business. Mr. Fernandez-Arias brings his deep knowledge and wealth of experience working with human rights issues to impart upon students enrolled in the College’s MBA and business programs,” said Eric Drouart, director of the College’s MBA program.
The event is free and open to the public.
Fernando Fernandez-Arias
Fernandez-Arias, a native of Madrid, has been a diplomat in the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1989.
He is currently serving as a fellow at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University. He was previously the director of Human Rights for the Spain Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a counselor for the Permanent Mission of Spain to the United Nations.
Fernandez-Arias was also a transatlantic diplomatic fellow at the U.S. State Department as a special advisor on human rights and gender equality issues to the assistant secretary for western hemispheres affairs.
