Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce
The Chamber of Commerce has recently announced its recipients for its 2015 Business Awards.
The Chamber has also announced a reception for the 12 winners of StartUp Worcester and hosted an internship and job fair on April 9.

South High School
South High School will receive the 2015 Youth Volunteer Group of the Year Award on April 29. South High teachers and students have engaged in supporting Community Harvest Project's mission and improving access to healthier foods for those in need in Worcester County in countless ways, including volunteering at the farm, running a Dimes for Dinners campaign, and hosting a speaker during Hunger Week.

The Sharks start their first playoff series in five years tonight against the Hershey Bears at 7 PM at the DCU Center. Game 2 is Saturday night at 7 PM.

Mike Sleeper - Imperial Distributors
Imperial Distributors was named Business of the Year by the Worcester Regional Chamber of Commerce. As if that wasn't enough, owner and CEO Mike Sleeper won the Isiah Thomas award from the Telegram and Gazette for exceptional community service.

Goddard Scholars Academy
On May 2nd, Sullivan Middle School’s Goddard Scholars Academy’s Model United Nations (UN) Program will hold the first Worcester County Model UN Conference. This conference is being hosted in cooperation with the United Nations Association of Greater Boston and with support of the Boston Red Sox Organization, National Grid, and the families and friends of the student participants.

Superintendent Dr. Melinda Boone
As GoLocal Worcester reported, Dr. Boone failed to place a phone call or reach out to the principal at Burncoat High School last Friday following the discovery of a gun and ammunition in a student's locker.
When Dr. Boone released a statement that she did reach out to the principal, that too was found to be false.

The Worcester Tennis Club is being looked upon as thieves in the night (along with the City of Worcester) for making a deal that would make their new home at Newton Hill with the city dumping $1 million into the project.

After last Friday's finding of a gun at Burncoat High, City Councilor Gaffney released a statement accusing the student of plotting to murder a police officer and blamed it on hateful rhetoric against police officers and teachers.

MBTA
For the second week in a row, the MBTA finds itself in the NOT column. This time, the MBTA finds itself about to be taken under control from Governor Baker's administration because it couldn't handle the record amount of snow the Bay State recieved this winter.
Baker is appointing three people of a five member board to oversee an overhaul of the MBTA.
