ACLU to Hold First Police Documentation Listening Session on Saturday

On Wednesday, the American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts (ACLU) announced it will hold its first listening session this Saturday as part of its police documentation initiative in Worcester. Along with several listening sessions, the Worcester initative also includes street outreach. Residents of Worcester are invited to share their experiences of encounters with the Worcester Police Department.

NEW: Norfolk DA Releases Names of Protesters Arrested for Blocking I-93

According to the Massachusetts State Police, Norfolk County District Attorney Michael Morrissey has released the names of the 11 people arrested for blocking Interstate 93 North in Milton during Thursday's morning commute.

“We know of at least one elderly crash victim who could not be transported to the Level 1 Trauma Center his injury demanded because this road was illegally blockaded,” said Morrissey. "The disregard for the safety and welfare of innocent citizens that this action manifests is shocking.”

This fall, GoLocal Worcester reported that National Grid warned its customers of a 37 percent increase in electric rates between November 1, 2014 and April 1, 2015.

Marcy Reed, President of National Grid in Massachusetts said,  “With the chance of another cold winter on the way, National Grid is very concerned about what higher energy costs mean for our customers. According to an updated press release from the Worcester Police Department, Alexandra Dymek has been found. No further details are available.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Worcester Police Department notified the public that 17-year-old Dymek had been missing since January 5.  According to the report, Dymek's mother reported her daughter went missing during the early hours of the morning.
