Carol Costa: Consensus in Congress? Maybe!

Don't look now, but the political left and right seem to be...agreeing on something?!

Thursday, August 22, 2013

Believe it or not, this “bleeding heart liberal” or “jerk”, whichever you prefer, does enjoy following, reading and considering smart voices on the right. I find them refreshing, enlightening and a tool I use to either temper my own political positions or in some instances harden them. Peggy Noonan’s, Patriotic Grace is a book I often refer to, especially amidst the hyper-partisanship and public name calling that envelop our politics. My thoughts were immediately Worcester to JFK with the new Embraer 190’s when they come in.

Paul Giorgio: GOP’s Rising Stars Need New Ideas

New blood doesn't always equal new ideas, especially in the case of the Republican party.

Wednesday, August 21, 2013

The Republican Party met last week in Boston to strategize for future elections. They most likely planned the event when the GOP leaders were the only ones in America who thought Mitt Romney would be president. What were the takeaways from the parley? Well, we do now know that GOP stands for ‘great opposition party’. The Republicans now have a one-line party platform. If he [Obama] is for it, we’re against it. You can't build a national party based on that. Additionally, you certainly can't build a party based on being against large groups of Americans.
