URI Gets $2.1 Million Grant to Study BPA’s Effects on Humans

A University of Rhode Island researcher is looking for clues about how a chemical in plastic affects humans, and has won big national money to do so. Angela Slitt, assistant professor of biomedical and pharmaceutical sciences in URI’s College of Pharmacy, has a five-year $2.1 million grant from the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences to study Bisphenol A, more commonly known as BPA.
