The losses sustained by the families of the Rhode Islanders who died on September 11, 2001, have manifested in as ways as specific as the individuals who were taken from their loved ones on that day.

It isn't suppose to happen. When the big boys of the Big East schedule the early season tune-up games against the lower division teams they are suppose to be wowed, over matched and just excited to play in a place like the Carrier Dome. But, when URI traveled to Syracuse the game that was suppose to be a blow out turned into and battle.

Rhode Island will join a cutting-edge group of states that are incorporating innovative cancer rehabilitation services for survivors, and because of a coordinated effort spearheaded by the Gloria Gemma Breast Cancer Resource Foundation, those services will be made available to all Rhode Islanders who are survivors.

A pug from Rhode Island named Harley is rapidly becoming a media star for some pretty gross reasons. 100 of them, in fact. Harley, who belongs to Lori Laverdiere of Manville, is making national news for pooping out 100 rocks.

Frank "Happy" Dobbs, who was the head coach for the Brown Men's Basketball Team in the 1990's, is the lead candidate to be Tim O'Shea's top assistant at Bryant University. Dobbs helped Brown to some of its best seasons and develop Brown stars including Eric Blackiston, Rick & Brian Lloyd and Steve Silas.
Dobb's son Frankie is the starting point guard and Bryant and one of the Bulldog's emerging stars.
