RE/MAX New England: Pending Sales in Massachusetts Are Up

RE/MAX of New England's November Monthly Housing Report found that pending sales for Massachusetts were up 2.4% over November 2013's pending sales for the state. 

Massachusetts also saw a 6.8% decrease in transactions* and a 4.5% increase in median price of real estate. 

“We expect to see home sales trailing off in the fourth quarter as we get into these cold winter months,” says Dan Breault, EVP/Regional Director of RE/MAX of New England. “The good news is that prices are holding steady across the region and homes are staying on the market fewer days than a year ago.” 

New England's overall yearly real estate sales have dropped by 8% and pending sales were down 20.4% from last November. 

Across New England, median prices rose year-over-year in every state except Maine, which was down by 1%. Month-over-month, prices held steady, increasing 0.5% on average. 

*Transactions are the total number of closed residential (single family and condo) transactions during the given month.
