3 Red Sox Players Win Gold Gloves

Wednesday, November 02, 2011

While the2011 Red Sox season may have ended with an historic crash and burn, it wasn’t a complete loss. Three members of the team were awarded Gold Gloves Tuesday.

Jacoby Ellsbury, Dustin Pedroia and Adrian Gonzalez all won Gold Gloves. It was Gonzalez’s third overall and first in the American League. For Pedroia, it was his second and first since 2008. Ellsbury picked up his first.

The last time three members of the Red Sox won Gold Gloves in the same season was back in 1979 when Dwight Evans, Fred Lynn and Rick Burleson all won the award.
