slides: Algonquin Players to Watch in the Lacrosse Championships

Friday, June 15, 2012

Algonquin will make history today when it becomes the first Central Mass school to send its boys and girls lacrosse teams to the state championship game. The female T-Hawks will also be the first Central Mass girls team to play for a state title, and will have the unenviable task of trying to defeat five-time defending state champion Westwood.

The boys are making their second consecutive state championship game appearance and hope to win their first title. They will have to deal with Eastern Mass champion Concord Carlisle. Both games will be played in Worcester's Foley Stadium with the girls' game scheduled to begin at 5 pm and the boys' game at 7:30 pm. Be sure to check back with GoLocalWorcester for complete highlights of both games.

So now, check out which T-Hawks you have to watch from these two tremendous Algonquin teams.
