Blackstone Valley Tech’s Zoe Mahoney signed a letter of intent to play NCAA Division II Field Hockey at the University of New Haven.

“As Athletic Director, I have had the opportunity to work with many students who are trying to make decisions about college and sports. Today, I am thrilled to see our field hockey program honor their first scholarship player in our school history. This is a memorable moment for our school,” said BVT Athletic Director Michele Denise.

Mahoney signed the letter during a ceremony at BVT on November 19.

About Mahoney

Mahoney played field hockey at Valley Tech throughout her four-year career at the school and led the team as a captain during her senior season.

A standout player, she contributed 37 points in goals and assists during her BVT field hockey career playing both forward and midfield positions.

Her high school field hockey career also includes being named a league all-star for the past two years.

In addition to her varsity field hockey experience, Mahoney plays field hockey for the Cape Ann Field Hockey Club and is a member of the National Honor Society, National Technical Honor Society, Aviation Club, and Robotics Club. She is also the BVT Class of 2019 Valedictorian.
