Celtics Blown Out by Cleveland 114-91, Fall Out of 1st Place

Thursday, April 06, 2017

In one of their most anticipated games of the season, the Boston Celtics were blown out by LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers 114-91 on Wednesday night at the TD Garden in Boston.

"I thought they were better, quicker to the ball, you name it - they were quicker in every category, and made it really tough on us. We didn't match them,” said Celtics coach Brad Stevens after the game.

The Celtics are now one game behind Cleveland for first place in the conference with four games to play. Cleveland also holds the tiebreaker.

Cleveland Dominates

The Celtics led 20-19 after the first quarter, but in the second, it was all Cleveland.

The Cavs went on a 22-4 run over the first 6:40 of the second quarter and would outscore the Celtics 38-22 in the half in the quarter.

Cleveland would build up as much as a 29 point lead in the third quarter and cruising to the win.

Next up

The Celtics return to action on Thursday night when they face the Atlanta Hawks.
